Angry High ping!

Apologies for another thread regarding this issue, but i have tried everything other people have posted and nothing has worked so far.

I have not had this problem until just yesterday when i started up GW and it downloaded a bug fix and then everything went to crap. I started getting high pings like up to 14k. I'm rubber-banding everywhere i go, even to un-populated districts, and my guild hall. This is ridiculous, I have checked my router and internet connection and everything is working fine, i downloaded a Latency fix and it seemed to help somewhat but i still get pings up to 10k and rubber-band constantly. I just want to know if anyone else is having this issue and if it Anet is indeed at fault. I heard they moved their servers a month ago or so, so maybe they're still experiencing technical difficulties?

This is just so frustrating...is their anyway guild wars can be repaired? like a repair program or something? like re-downloading files or whatever, i don't know if that would help but, i just want to play

EDIT: I just looked at my router settings, and looked on the Tab UPnP forwarding, and noticed the port 6112 was not checked. but on my range port forwarding tab it is, do i need to check it maybe to get a better connection?

(sorry i'm not very router savvy)

Wow, i love i this has gotten 44 views and no one has responded. Super great...

sorry mate - seems that allot more people than avg. have been screwed with this recent server change/move.... you could try running the "-image" command (look it up on guildwaswiki) but I won't gurantee that anything other than a few days will help you...

^ That would be a good place to start imo. You should also (if you can) try directly connecting your internet to your computer and seeing if that helps. If your ping goes down then it's most likely an issue with your router, if it doesn't then you should probably give us your router model so that someone could help you open/forward your ports.

That thread has a little bit of information about the ports. :\ You could also try opening command prompt (Start > Accessories > System Tools > Command Prompt in XP -or- for Vista/Win7 Start > type cmd into search) and running tracert to one of the GW server IPs to see where it's timing out. Once you have this information you should email it to GW Support and your ISP. :]

Thank you for the responses.

My router's model is: Linksys BEFSR41

I haven't reset my modem yet, its an Arris modem, is there a button in the back that resets it?
I just don't want to screw anything up.

Great, Not that re-installing the game is a big deal. Just really annoying.

Well i did that, but i still get rubber-banding. I've done everything on my end that i can possibly do and nothing has improved. So i guess i'll just have to wait it out. : /
